S4 Auto and Manual Counterwieght - Interchangeable?

Sup peoples.

I just got an S4 long block which came from an Automatic RX-7, and I want to drop it in my S4 RX-7 that is Manual.

So far, I've taken off the Flex-plate and the Rear Counterwieght. Now I need to put my Flywheel that works with my Manual Rx-7 (which has an integrated counterwieght) on to this block.

Now:

Do I need to switch the front counterwieght with the one from my old engine(Manual) or is the front counterwieght from the Automatic car interchangeable?

Thanks

-Jon

you should not have to change the c-weight. front counterweights are the same 86-88 and then 89-91 trans mission does not change this. don't mix those because they are weighted for difference weight rotors.

it's a counterweight for the rotors, not the transmission.... so, just make sure the flywheel matches the engine series (which it does) and you're good.

nope, if you have the stock T2 flywheel it is a bolt on thing. you can sell the rear auto counterweight for about $50-80 or keep it for an upgraded lightweight flywheel in the future. those counterweights are hard to come by these days, in fact i bought on brand new because i couldn't find anyone who had one for a decent price.

Hey that sounds good. Ya I wish I could keep that counterwieght but the guy who sold me the engine wanted it for himself and his lightwieght flywheel setup.

Thanks for the replies.
