S4 Alternator Upgrade Question

On the S5-S6 Alts, do both Positive wires always have current going to them?

The extra one I run, is that a fulltime power source?

So it seems that would be a yes... Terminal "S" is hooked directly to the battery?

B post hooks right back up to the B post wiring on your S4.

The "s" lead get cut and taped off....
The "l" gets hooked to the "l" on the S6 alt.
And the "r" goes directly to the battery with a fuse installed (I used a 15amp)

No. When you put a S5 or S6 alt in a series four, the S MUST go to the constant, 24hrs a day battery source. NOT a switched source of pwr like the ignition switch. If you put it to a switched source of pwr, then the batt will drain down over a period of time if the car is left unattended over several nights.

So, like they said, you take your BLACK/WHITE (series four switched pwr), and dead end that wire.

THen you run a NEW wire to the S terminal from a Constant source of battery pwr. Your choice of from just where.

The WHITE/BLACK goes to the L terminal. Actually to a relay in the CPU on a series four car.

PAY ATTENTION to the arrangement of the two posts in the jack on the alternator. Dont reverse these two wires when you connect them to the jack on the alternator.

If there's any doubts about any of this, then PM J-RAT.

Thank you guys! I really appreciate the help!

On the "S" wire, it seems it is the larger of the two on the Conector.
