S4 AFM - Sensitive to positioning?
S4 AFM - Sensitive to positioning?
I currently have my S4 AFM mounted on a custom TID. It is kind of at an angle though. My idle is kinda iffy...sometimes it idles at a solid 750, sometimes its at 1000, sometimes it is jerky at 1100....but i just installed a new motor with all new gaskets, all new vac lines, and there shouldnt be ANY leaks at all...could this weird idle be caused by the AFM being mounted at an angle? Here is a picture...

The AFM is sensitive to positioning... It should ideally be straight forward, but minor adjustments are ok... You don't really want it to be facing upwards if at all possible, because it reduces the amount of force needed to move the flapper...
Sloped downhill it not as bad as rotated around it's centerline, but it's still not ideal. You'll never get it to sit anywhere near flat with a simple bend. I cut and rewelded a long bend to sit my AFM flatter.
