S4 AFM - bypass screw

The FSM says not to tamper with this screw, but doesn't tell how to get it back into spec if it was messed with before the car was in your hands. Is there any specific way to set it? Thanks.

If it has been messed with, get another AFM.

Not exactly the most budget-wise way to reset it, now is it?

If the FSM has no way of setting it, there's a good chance they meant it when they said do not tamper with it. Any "tampering" I've seen in the past has always been fixed with a replacement AFM. Never seen it end well post-adjustment.

I mean, the car still runs good and all, I just leave the screw all the way closed (where it was when I got the car) so that all incoming air goes through the flap. I don't know if this is good or bad, but it seems to run fine.... I was just wondering what it's significance is and why someone would want to tamper with it.
