S4 AAS with new struts?

I have the AAS on my car but my struts are shot. Will the AAS still work if I get new struts or no? Im planning on getting adjustable coilovers in the near future though.

if you get new replacement units from Mazda yes but it will also cost you $234614746271376 dollars lol

get something like, kyb gr2 or tokico hp if you are just going to upgrade in time. but if your going to get new coilovers in the near future then just save your money.

You're getting coilovers but you want the button inside to work?

Really?

My buddy "buggy" on the forum bought new ones last year, they work great; I think the cost was about 1100 cdn at the time.

im pretty sure you would be able to use a ground control kit on aas shocks. there website says they fit on stock struts. then you could have both aas and adjustable height/preload.

Mazdatrix sells AAS struts:

I would just save your money for the coilovers...

you can get tein coilovers with EDFC if you want them adjustable.

No i dont want to have the aas switch and the coilovers. When I get the coilovers I know I wont have the aas. I plan on going with tokico struts but whats a good adj coilover brand? I dont want something cheap and will go out on me or snap.

Not sure what your asking here, you said your going with tokico struts but then ask for a good adj coilover?

I think you are confused as to what a true coil over is...

Ture full coilover(comes as a full unit, spring and strut together):

Coilover springs(they go over stock or aftermarket struts):

Adjustible struts(you can use stock, lowering, or coilover springs):

Hope this helps you

Yes I do, but it all depends on your price range.

You could go with a $900~$1000 set, which would be Ksport & D2.

If you have a bit more money to spend go with Stance GR+ which is like ~$1300.

I have never been in a car with Ksports or D2 (I think there made by the same parent co.) but I also have not heard any horror stories about them ether, a lot of people say they are good for the street and some lite track. If you are going to spend a lot of time on back roads or the track get the GR+'s, Stance coilovers are very good. They are up there with Cusco, Apexi, JIC without the insane price.

Your best bet would be to google for people's experience with the ksport/D2 and also the Stance's and other types and see what fits you and your style/budget the best, then make your choice.

Here is a link to one of best prices I found for the GR+'s (any order over $100 is free shipping):

All the coilovers they carry for our cars:

I would rather spend the extra few hundred and get something that has a better rep.. not being a poser just if a lot of people like them then they must be worth it. Ill look into them both though and see. That helps me a lot. Thank you!

Not trying to take anything away from the full coilover idea but for around 700usd, you can have a suspension set up that will accomplish the same goals.

I don't see a need for a full coilover set up on a street car.

+1. Even for autocross or the odd track day, GC coilovers and springs with Koni Sports or KYB AGX's are good, and still streetable, depending on the spring rates you choose.
