S-AFC II install S5 n/a idle prob

I have searched for the last hour on what this problem is, so I need help. I just installed my S-AFC II and it functions. I performed the initial setup and now my car idles like **** and seems to run poor. I have it set as Flap 6in 6out, 4cyl arrow up to right.

I feel like I am missing some simple step, but I just cant find it. My check engine light is also on and when I turn on my headlights it blinks, and idles worse. My S-AFC II show 62% throttle when I am at WOT with the car off, but then does not register at all when I start the car. I am confused and tired any help is greatly appreciated.

yes I went over the connections and I wired it correctly. The rpm's will rise untill like 1/3 throttle then it starts reading throttle. Yes I did the sensor check, but it was at 1.8 not 0-1. Is that normal?

ur TPS was 1.8?

S5's have a wide range TPS... i believe it should be 0-5 volts...

ur TPS maybe shot and u didn't know it...

no I think you misunderstood me. my in1 on the sensor is around 1.8 and nothing on the other 2, throttle goes to about 2.somthing is that normal. I disconnected the S-AFC and it starts and idles perfectly like before.

I used the wiring diagram from the apexi site. And yes I did the initialize procedure, but I will try it again, and double check wiring connections.

No, it's not wired correctly, you're reading the wiring diagram backwards - same thing I did. I wasn't paying attention to how they showed the connector and so I did it upside down.

The car was so rich and wouldn't idle unless I held it at 3k rpm. Just check the wiring, if it's not the wiring then you've skewed up something else where (make sure the grounds are right, etc)

I don't think the directions say, but after selecting initialize, you have to turn the key off, then back on.

Told ya' - I had the same problem and felt stupid after I looked at the diagram the right way! lol

Yes, it should unless you lean/richen it out on low-throttle setting.

Make sure the solders good on all connections, make sure the signal coming in/out isn't backwards. DONT use crimps because for some reason they don't work.
