Definately replace the belt yesterday. As for faster, well, it's N/A, so good luck. If you want fast you want a TII, if you can't find a TII you want a TII Engine, tranny, ECU, etc. You can make the N/A fast, but I'd much rather go F/I, I grew up on boost. To make the N/A fast you'd need true dual exhaust (lose the cats and such), porting, nitrous..maybe an electric fan, underdrive pulleys and remove the emissions crap (EGR, ACV, Air Pump (or keep the air pump to actuate the aux ports)). Also, make it lighter, strip it down, every 100 pounds is about .1 seconds on the E/T. Of course tune it up, new plugs, wires, oil, tranny oil, well, is it auto or manual? Replace the tranny oil/fluid either way, differential oil as well. Then see where you're at.

Ya an n/a RX-7 isnt exactly fast as all hell. Well for starters is everything working right? ie injectors, 5th and 6th ports, fuel and oil filter, timing, spark plugs/plug wires, ect.

You got yourself a nice Sport Model there.
But the car should be pretty fast, around a 7.6 second 0-60 on that model since it is very light compaired to the GXL that does the 1/4 mile in about 16.2@86.4mph.
If it is not that fast, then you need to check the 5th/6th port operation and no matter what do a full 60K mile tune up replacing all the sparkplugs/wires, filters, belts, and fluids.

no, full exhaust will not render the 6th ports useless, headers alone create enough backpressure (1.2 psi i think) to open them,
do the TB mod, full exhaust, port matched intake manifold, cold air box, insulate your intake tube, e-fan, remove PS if you dont feel you need it and AC if you dont need it, remove airpump and acv (get block of plate $6 from racing beat)
that is pretty much all of the simple stuff
pm me if you want to hear all of the complicated stuff
