??? Is S-5 Shift **** Thread Smaller Than S-4 ???

I have an S5 Engine/tranny swapped into my 88 t2 and the **** from my S4 is to big now. The **** I used on my 88 was from my 90 celica and it fit nice and low and looked freash but now it doesn't fit. The swap is from J-pan and I was wondering if all S5 trannys are like this?

-Thanks, Dustin.

They make plastic adapters that you can insert into the **** and use on the S5 tranny.

Remember the Miatas (NA/NB/NC), FD and FE all use the same smaller **** size as the S5 shifter.

Get a Miata short throw shifter, cuts your shift lag down by alot easy to install youself amd there alot cheaper than buying a "rx7" shifter..

cool, thanks! I traided someone some 680cc injectors for a short shifter they said was for an s4 and it came in and the shifter itself was much skinnier than the s4 and of course would not let me screw the s4 shifter on it. So now I order the fd jspec shifter witch I think is hot
