ok i replaced the sparkplugs the blue banded ones on the top i did the little ATF trick, i also did the complex unflood and the easy unflood still didnt start, when i put the EGI fuse back it, IT ALMOST starts.... its gets to about 500rpms then dies...... kinda like brrrrvrrrrrbbrrrrrvrrr when i did the complex unflood when i turned over the motor i got strong PSSSTTTT through all the rotation any ideas?!?!?!?! i checked the wires and coils all getting sparks i have plenty of gas... 1/2 tank
hey wan can you help me out , i also used my trailing plugs for my lead and vice versa i dont think i have my wires crossed i got the blue ones ontop and the black on the bottom the rear wire on the coil to the rear on the block right?
honestly i dont remember what wire goes where off the top of my head, but i think it should still turn on. You said you tried atf? Did you squirt it into the leading plug holes? You can also put some in that big vacuum line on the dynamic chamber. Its right below the word 13B. Theres 3 of them. Just squirt a little atf into the BIG hose, let it sit for a minute or two, then try to start it. hope this helps a bit :P

sometimes a little ether can get the car started quick, just spray a little bit in and the badboy will start right up... My car had gas sitting for 4 months and it was bunk.. smell it.. is it funny? There is a drain plug for the tank right on the bottom of the car..i would suggest emptying it out and getting some fresh gas ! ... also is it a TII or an N/A ... because you said you used 91 octane, if its a N/A you will get better results starting it with crappy gas ie: 87 octane.. etc....

Even if your plugs are are backwards L & T it still should start, it will idle but have no power.
its a 90 t2 i love my baby
heheheh ok well im gonna go out there today and try getting it started ill drain out that gas and give it some fresh 91. also should i try getting some carb cleaner or carb starter fluid inside after the intercooler i know it works on dirtbikes prolly not rotaries tho. but ill some stuff in a few minutes tell you how it goes!!!! im gonna take pics later with my digi cam

hmm few things..
when it barely turns over feather the throttle.. that usually helps.
unflood it and try some starter fluid.. then punch the gas when it turns over..
try push starting it also. get at a good speed too and let that baby kick.
make sure you have spark to the rotors by undoing the egi fuse and pullin 1 plug at a time... stick a screwdriver in it and place the driver next to something metal ( ie. shock tower bolts).. that will help u confirm u have spark..
also make sure your MAF isnt stuck wide open or that it is working right and moves freely..
just a few things i could think of

old spark plugs were toasted beyond belief and i installed a the sparkplugs wires wrong.... and on the bov that part is disconnected and it leaks air and runs like poo i got it duct taped on for right now
do the spark plug wires that have that white mark near the end go to the rotor closest to the front of the car or closest to the cockpit? Having trouble with mine too.
Mine sounds like exactly the same except i have an NA

Hullo Chaos. The LEAD coil assy is on the left fender next to the battery. It has markings on the black plastic under the wires. Should be L1 below the most inboard wire. This wire will go to the front rotor. It WILL go to the BOTTOM plug. That plug has embossed next to the plug hole L. The next wire on the front coil assy has L2 under the wire. It goes to the rear rotor assy. It goes to the BOTTOM plug. That plug has L next to it. The TRAIL coil assy is next to the brake master cylinder. The foremost wire has T1 under it . That wire goes to the front rotor, and the upper plug. That plug hole has T embossed next to it. The other wire has T2 under it and goes to the rear rotor and the top plug. That plug hole has T embossed next to it.
You can screw up the L1 and the L2 plug, between each other, and nothing at all bad will happen since they both fire at exactly the same time. But if you screw up the arrangement of the T1 and T2 you will suffer the consequences and your hair will fall out and all your children will be born with two heads. As in KABLOOIE someday.

Ok, if it's ALMOST starting, you probably have everything right... but just a quick rundown for you.
The pair of plug wires where there are 2 wires on 1 coil are the leading... they go to the lower plugs. Front wire on coil = front plug.
The ones with 2 separate coils are the trailing- they go on the top plugs. wire to the front coil = to front plug. Check that out to be sure it is the way I described.
Now... it sounds like you are REALLY close to starting... so go to the auto parts store and get a can of ether (starting fluid)
On the top of the manifold where it says 13b efi etc, there are 3 vacuum hoses on the front of that section- one is pretty "fat." Remove the "fat" hose, and squirt some starting fluid in there... then replace the hose and try starting it. You may need to repeat this process a few times... and you may need to repeat the unflood process a few times... but this SHOULD get you started. Otherwise, get a rope and a friend with a car to pull you around the block at about 35 mph in second gear... that should start it for sure.
If you have put the tranny fluid in there... it WILL smoke... huge clouds of smoke, for probably 15 minutes or so.
