okay so im thinking i need new fuel injectors but im wanting more oppinions im also gonna get a new maf. but before it died it had a bad coolant seal and i used the stuff in the coolant to block the seals which worked but a few days later it started acting weird. i would press the gas yet it wouldnt go faster i cant remember if it acted like the tranny was slippin or not which i thought was the problem so i put in more tranny fluid in the 2 hours later it died in my driveway while i was messing with my intake .. to never turn on again .... i know ima need to rebuild some day but im wondering if i can get it to at least drive around a bit before i do that

What were you doing to the intake? Check the hoses that hook to the air funnel, up near the throttle body. I forgot to put mine back on and had the same symptoms!!! Car would just start and then die instantly

I could be wrong but it looks like your air intake hose isn't connected to the throttle body?

If your AFM isn't connected, plugged in, and working correctly then it will not start.

spark plugs are only a few hundred mile tops
i was messing with my intake cuz i was starting to think maybe my filter was bad,
i also took off the maf sensor under it and took it apart and it looked like one of the plug ins was broke
im gonna try to get new maf for it but if that doesnt work im thinking the injectors
but i figured my intake was one of the reasons since i already know my car wouldnt start with it off before

You should probably get a coolant system pressure tester and see if that coolant seal is blown. Pull your spark plugs, pressurize the cooling system, spin the engine over. If you're getting coolant in the combustion chamber, you need to order a rebuild kit.

But aside from all that, listen to the above posts. Your intake needs to be completely intact for it to start. If you have any openings between the throttle body and MAF sensor, it's sucking in unmetered air. That means the ECU doesn't know how much to pulse the injectors, causing it to cut off or not start.

Also, it doesn't matter if your spark plugs are brand new or only a couple hundred miles, etc. If they're fouled, you need to find out why. Or if they're covered in coolant, well, you already know what the problem is then.

And NEVER use any kind of additive to stop leaks. NEVER!!!!
I've seen it too many times. People try the easy fix : Mechanic in a can. Pour it in, it works for a little while, it stops working, so does their car. Then it gets towed to my shop where I have to give you the bad news. You need a whole new cooling system because that ****'s gummed it all up. It's cheaper to fix it properly the first time. Rebuild kit is around $900. Couple that with the cost of hoses, radiator, water pump, and heater core.

+1 for putting your intake back together.
If you don't have your maf on there, you'll be cranking it over till the starter blows out.

Nice catch, LunchboxCritter

OP you ready to sell your car yet?

Please put your car back together and undo all that you have done, then make a new video and write a new description of your problems. I'm sure we can better help you get it back on the road.

for the 2 seconds it did in the video, sure. the engine isn't designed to run with the AFM off the car so holding an idle will be a crap shoot with it removed, even lightly touching the throttle will undo anything you did to get it started in the first place as well.

mine tends to shut off if i dont keep my foot on the gas at like 3500 for 5 seconds and bring it down slowly after i have these issues. so if you get it started again let it sit at 3500 and bring it down till its at 1500 keep your foot on the pedal but not pressed and if it drops too 800 then whomp on it some more till it idles out.. i didnt do that the last time my car stalled out... and now it wont start anymore. i even deflooded the motor by pulling the plugs.. i have no idea what it is.
