Stock.. Why fix something if it's not broken?

But then again, does depend on your mods and what you overall prefer.

Stock or one that won't get you pulled over & asked to pop your hood.

So route it to dump the air back into the intake like the stock setup. It should dampen the sound enough even with a cone filter.

turbosmart.

I would stay away from some of the more popular ones due to known bad quality and functionaltiy issues

I had a blitz BOV that replaced the stock one on my TII engine for a while. Personally, I would leave it stock until your car is tuned to the point of removing the AFM. Otherwise you should recirculate it back into the intake. If you are running an AFM, every time the valve blows off you are losing air that the meter thinks is still heading to the combustion chamber. This causes a temporary rich condition. This will probably cause your exhaust to pop flames much easier. I also felt that for a few seconds of driving after the valve purges, the car seemed to hesitate and stumble slightly until the air/fuel ratio sorts itself back out. A recirculated BOV sounds much like stock anyways, so again I feel this is kind of a pointless mod.

If you want your car to make loud wooshes, shoot fire, gain no performance, add a few hiccups to an engine that is otherwise running smooth, or "just plain love rice", a vented BOV is just what you need...
