rx7 tII makes boost only under load

I went to make my bov blow off while I had my clutch pressed in and noticed it didn't make any boost, the needle just went to 0, last night it would make boost when I wasn't under load , it boosts fine when I drive the car just not when I'm stopped or with the clutch pressed in , it was normal last night when I did it, what's the problem here and it is a 1988 t2 with a little over 70k miles and I have all silicone vacuum lines if that helps

thats normal. bov's usually blow off when you free rev it though, depends on how tight their spring is set. where in SC are you?

Im In greenville

Edit: when I left to work it would blow off on free rev but when I got off work later it wouldn't blow off on free rev, it would just show 0 on mY boost gauge , it is just annoying me because sometimes it does it and others it doesn't, is it bad if it doesn't make boost on a free rev ? Like something wrong with the car ?

Your car did not build boost while revving, it won't. Unless you have a launch control or 2 step of some sort.
