Where can I get some new carpet and some decent seats for an '86 Rx7 Coupe? I dont mind aftermarket seats, just as long as they arent like $400 a peice I could use some restoration sites as well. Thanks.

i have a site that explains how to rehupolster seats of a mazda mx-3. i don't imagen that the procedure would be much different, and the final project looks really sweet. The guy also explains how to change the door inserts.

When I get my RX-7 TII, which is today (hopefully), I would just remove the stock carpets and rear seats/storage. It's not like the carpets is really necessary. Instead of putting carpets on, I wold put a rubber floor mat for each seat. That is better than carpets, which absorbs crap.

I'm sure the stock carpet also absorbs noise (roadnoise & help with audio sound quality) and absorbs heat.

Not sure if rubber matts would be as effective.

Fred,

I'm sure the guys on ebay selling rx-7 carpets can make them. VB might have them as well.

Most of the seat places sell the ones for the coupes, because they include a rear section for the hatch area.

You just have to contact them and tell them you only want the front section. The only difference between the coupe and 'vert carpet is a small re-enforcement section right behind the seats, and the coupe carpet will work, it just doesn't lay perfectly flat like the factory one without some minor cuts.
