Rx7 Seats

Hey all, not new to Mazda's specifically but the RX7 definitely. Ive got a very nice set of MX3 seats I've got sitting in my Ford Escort right now and I'm wondering, when I get my Rx7 home this weekend, how much work will be need to make a custom fit, or what swaps in to Rx7 with relative ease. The only thing I know of that can be swapped from an RX7 is the MAF, which will work in a Mazda BP (protege). Can anybody recommend a set of seats that works well or with a little work? I know the Chasis isn't the same between an MX3 and an RX7 but that would ideal, I love the look and feel those seats offer.

Thanks,

Andrew

I see a couple of vendors are selling aftermarket seats... This is something I've considered, or simply having the stock buckets redone... But, it seems like its just as expensive to have the old ones redone...

I think precidia seats are not worth the trouble, stock seats look better in the rx-7 and I find them very comfortable.

I know I have a rip btw.

Those look really nice. I havent seen the condition or really what the stock ones look liked. I assumed there were like most early 90's car seats... really really crappy and ugly, I also forget this was a high end car, not like my Ford Escort. The GT seats were a joke. Those look good, what colours did they come in anyways?

I'm almost certain that you will have to fab custom mounting brackets--especially for the passenger side which has a very funky seat rail assembly. When you remove the RX-7 seats take a look at the bracket for the passenger seat and you'll see what I mean. The inner rail is canted and at a higher level than the outer rail to account for the inner mounting point on the side of the tunnel. But good luck anyway?
