Rx7 S4 fuel pump options
My FC fuel is on its way out. I am looking for advantage and disadvantage of the below options.
- OEM pump replacement (either used one or a brand new Bosch)
- Walbro 255lph fuel pump
Currently I am running N/A, but I have plan for upgrade in the future. Although I have not had a fixed plan, but it is likely an engine swap. Since I need to get a fuel pump now, I wonder if I should go ahead and buy the Walbro first. According to what I can find online, this pump will be good for 500hp. My end goal is more like 300, so I am debating if I Utilize this chance to upgrade my pump.
By the way, my car has stock fuel system currently, so stock fuel rail, FPR, etc.
I know that Walbro will not give me any gain right now, but should I get it ready for future upgrade. Also, will it has negative draw back if I use the Walbro now?
Please let me know what you guys think.

had a walbro 255 on my na s4, I can confirm it is too much pressure for it. I just swapped back to a stock unit and it feels better.
Walbro without an adjustable FPR is going to run pig rich and horrible on fuel economy. My walbro now sits in a bag on my shelf until I rebuild my turbo engine.

I will stick with stock pump for now, because I am still saving up for the swap. It would be at least one more year before it can happen.

no problem man. I went the route in which you described. I even have the engine sitting, just no money to rebuild it. haha. Save the money on gas and use it for the walbro and AFPR when you are ready lol.
