Rx7 FC3S TII Oil pressure issue?

Okay so i have a 1987 rx7 turbo II, ive done all scheduled maintence. it has 45,000 miles on it its always run good and still does, using the factory oil pressure gauge at on start up it jumps to right under 110psi and when fully warmed idle is about 60 psi. anytime i drive the car above 2k rpms its always sitting right at 110psi. until i put the car in neutral and it goes back to 60psi.

its driving me crazy that its extremely high is this normal? does anyone know what might cause this?

sounds like you have the same issue that i am having now, the oil pressure sender is going bad.

Your oil pressure isnt that high, the sender to the gauge is busted.

110psi oil pressure is about the max you can expect to see. It can really run that high and it doesn't necessarily mean there is a problem. It depends on oil weight, oil temperature, and rpm. I'll have to look through the lubrication section of the service manual again, it explains the relief pressure on the regulator.
