just recently got my rx7 and its been running good but came with a “limp mode” issue. when in gear and ONLY when in gear, the car hits a wall at 3500 rpm exactly and struggles to rev beyond that point. I read a few threads on this (https://www.rx7club.com/2nd-generation-specific-1986-1992-17/1986-n-wont-rev-past-4-000rpm-753264/ this being the main one) and can’t seem to figure out exactly what it is since none of these problems should be in-gear specific. the car will rev to 8000 no problem in nuetral or with the clutch in. any ideas are appreciated. also if anyone knows where the obd-1 port is that would help a lot. (1988 rx7 fc NA 13b engine)

Follow that procedure, read out whatever CEL codes are presented, and post the CEL codes here to diagnose further.

 

AFM plugged in? Def check the diagnostic codes though.

 

It won't even start & run without the AFM plugged in, so it's not that.
