Rx-7 won't start

i have a 1989 Rx-7(non turbo), and the car won't start. i replaced the spark plugs and wire and it is getting to the engine(i checked it.)

the engine clicks, when i try to start it.

i was reading the forum and it looks like it is flooded(i think)...i had this problem before(is it the same problem?) and my mechanic put some automatic transmission fluid down something and the car shot out a lot of blue smoke from the exhaust. and it started. but i can't find the picture on line of that hose that he put the ATF in.

i really enjoy driving the rx-7's but sh*t like this make me so fustrated.

If the engine just "clicks" and the starter doesn't turn the engine over it is not necessarily flooded. Could be your battery, a bad ground or the starter motor or solenoid. Check the grounds and charge the battery, then try starting the car after the battery is fully charged.

For how to start a flooded rotary engine, see the FAQ, but that doesn't sound like your problem.

I vote dead battery/poorly connected cables.

If the battery is fully charged and the starter still won't turn over, check and make sure the grounds are securely fastened. If that doesn't do the trick, it's likely either the starter or the solenoid, or you may have a rotor locked up.
