runs and dies, no tach???

i recently picked up an 88 na unfortunetly it was from someone that passed away in the middle of their build which has left me stuck trying to figure out what he had done and what the car needs.

first day i got it i noticed the fuel pump wasnt turning on, so i jumper the yellow fuel pump connector and that works,

it starts and runs but i had to keep pressing the throttle to keep it running and the tach wasnt moving with my inputs

the tach was working until took off the afm and mounted it a little more solid.

done:
adj. tps
tested tps
tested afm
jumpered fuel pump connector
added extra ground wire to negative terminal

now i know i need a new alt but that shouldn't be a reason for the car to just die out?

i checked out the injectors and they could use some o-rings and theyre not so tight in the fuel rail (i went to check the clip and they moved a lil, normal?)

haven't done:
comp test
replace injectors
replace ecu (n320 i believe is in car now)

everything has been done and tested within ALLDATA standards and tests so dont just say DL the FSM.

Cliffs:
runs and dies
no tachometer when running
won't run without constant throttle input
lots of wires cut and removed from harness near ecu (im thinking they're not necessary/rats nest)

on a side note when i did get to drive it, it was the most amazing thing ever... way better than a s13, till the FP jumper wire fell out.

yessir, first thing i replaced and i just ran outside and tested it.

also just checked the starter and its missing the lower bolt closest to the mission,

i read that in another thread regarding the same problem figure id check it, unfortunetly i don't have the proper threaded bolt to test out that theory.

i also just saw a plate below the throttle body on the firewall side that is only held with 1 bolt but it just looks like a transmission plate? actually it looks kinda fabbed and only has 1 bolt hole but there is a corresponding hole on the block but no hole on the plate to screw through.

only thing i can think of doin tommorow is remove uim and check for vac leaks and replace the injectors/o-rings
