running without primary diffusers?

I pulled my UIM to replace a leaky PD and pulled my primaries for inspection. I noticed that one of my diffusers is missing approx 1/4 of it's face, where the injector grommet sits. Can you say vacuum leak?

So I'm thinking of pulling it out - possibly for good - but at least 'til I can get the replacement parts. Was wondering, can I seat the injectors in the boss without the diffuser? Does this mean I have to lose the injector rail spacer to get the proper clearance? thanks ~rich

Replace it. Fuel atomisation will suffer if you don't.

Be prepared for a CRAPPY idle.
That and the fuel injectors just doesn't sit right in the hole - the top of the air bleed valve centers the fuel injectors in the hole.
