Running when parked... till now.
I have a 1987 S4, not sure base-model, never checked, its an NA 13b, stock to my knowledge. It ran when it was parked last, and now it TRIES to start with a little gas given, but never quite gets there.
Heres the interesting twist.
It has compression, it has fuel pressure, it has spark, it has air. Coolant, Oil, both full. All vacuum lines as far as I can tell are plugged correctly. No AC, power steering pump IS there, but is unhooked, unbelted, and disconnected. BAC is hooked up, the TPS is functioning properly, and I've tried starting it with the TPS disconnected, and the intake thingie (MAF?) disconnected, still doesn't budge.
The outside set of secondaries (vacuum controlled) are open, but the inside set closed. The throttle functions properly (bottom barrel). Fuel pump gets full voltage as well. All plugs are firing. The OMP is still connected, and is functioning, and I'm now lost on where to go next.
I guess tomorrow I'll pull & clean the plugs or buy new ones (based on condition)
OH just remembered, when I was turning it over, a friend told me white smoke was coming out of the back, not blue. My 1990 S5 (S4 TII swap) smokes blue (2cycle), so I'm not sure what color this should be, or if its even a problem. Maybe I'll just push start it down the road.

and if you disconnected your AFM(the flapper door thingie). The car will Start and DIE,it needs to be connected to run.
I am betting the car is Flooded.Clean your spark plugs.(most likely soaked with fuel).
