running to hot?
So my 88' na rx7 has been blowing exhuast manifold collector gaskets alot lately, like 1 per week for about the last 2 months. so it just blew another one this morning on my way to school. so after a spirited drive home from work just now i pull into my driveway and notice my temp guage a little higher then usual, about 1/3 up the guage( it usually stays about 1/4 way up) so after shutting off my car i heer a loud metal poping sound from under the hood.....so i pop it open and take a peek....i look at the little opening in the heat shield around the o2 sensor and notice the exhuast manifold is glowing red! so what would cause this to get so hot? and is it my source for blowing collector gaskets? my car has a full free flowing exhuast(no cat high flow mufflers) and a custom cold air intake, and my 6 ports are wired open for now untill my gaskets and block off plate come to do my porting of the intake and throttle body.......so any imput would be cool. thanks!

do you have the fan shroud off ,or under tray off ..those two things are very helpfull to direct air to where it should go..so that you car will cool down, when you do Your Spirited driving..my take on it..

i havent touched the fan shroud or any plastic directing pieces on the car, i did how ever remove the a/c condencer and the plastic peices infront of the ratiator. i think its runing way to rich cause my exhaust could kill small animals, and it just smells like gas constintly.....well i guess i need to get my injectors flowed and cleaned as soon as my parts come from mazdatrix.
