Rubber Coolant Seal Woes

Every time I think I finished my engine, I get problems.

Long story short, I coated my seals in vasoline, dropped them in, had to pull a housing up, seal dropped. Because it was coated, it expanded. How can I dry them out, or whatnot; so I can put them back in??

Order just the seals .. they gotta be cheap, its not worth tearing it down a 3rd time for just those.
