The spring rates are 335 lb/in front and 224 lb/in rear. They drop 1.2" in the front and 2" in the rear.

It could be anything from preference on looks to effectively increasing the spring rates by dropping the car further.

I've always figured it's because the rear of our car is higher than the front, so dropping the rear more will even it out and make the front/rear level with each other.

but if that's the case, then wouldn't that already ruin the balance that the car was meant for with stock springs?

how about the engine being in the front doesn't that weigh down the car a bit so that the springs don't have to be lowered as much?

Stock springs still? Combination of weight reduction and sagging old springs I'd assume. Maybe the rears have been beaten more in their life than the fronts.

well not stock springs, i mean like stock height. if it's not lowered evenly, then i think that might ruin the balance? right?

On most cars, stock is not best.
