RPMS acting weird

Hey im sure this has been asked before but im pretty new to the group and was wondering if anybody else has ever had this happen before

Ive got a 1988 non turbo SE and when Im gaining speed and i shift into 5th and just press the pedal to the floor my RPMS will go way up and then slowly drift back down and THEN ill start to accelerate. it happens in the other gears but not as bad. plus it doesnt do it all the time. just every now and then.
could it just be a wiring problem cause I do need to resolder my cpu. just hadnt had time. or is it compression issues? Ive used fuel injector cleaner before and it seemed to help a lot. but the next day it happened again. any input would be helpful

uhh, thats a slipping clutch, it probably only does it sometimes because the clutch is hot.
I know at the track if I hot lap it, by the 3rd of 4th time down my clutch startt to slip at the top of 3rd.

Just replace the whole thing with something good. Dont get a cheap ebay kit. I went to mazda and got a full clutch kit for around $126.
