Lightbulb RPM switch - does anyone here make them?

RPM switch how-to in the archives.

I know you can buy one from Summit Racing and others, but I figure someone here can make essentially the same thing and sell it for less and still make an honest buck on e-bay or through the list.

The post I refer to from the archives...

I don't have the time nor electronics knowledge to build one myself...

heh..People are getting too lazy to do it Old School..if it isn't made up and In a Parts catalogue somehwere, then they Don't have the time to Make one.The RPM Switch at Summit has been Mentioned on a couple threads That I have skimmed though PF..and I managed to pick on up on Forum here cheaply..I Haven't built anything Like Curtis's (SLVR7's),although I can,and Have time(plenty of it)...Now,If you are Interested later,I may not even Put the RPM switch on,and If I don't,I can PM you and see if you want it!..I am looking for some kind of Actuator,to Push/Pull the 5/6th ports. That would be nice to Find, combined with an RPM switch,it would make a Bullet-Proof Port opening system.

Where can I buy the chip LM2917

Studied the diagram carefully, did some searching and researching, and think I can do this (and save some money too).

Where's a good place to buy these? I've only found places that cater to big orders (I don't need 55-1000)!

Preferably a place here in Canada.

I already PM'd the thread starter in the archives, but he hasn't logged on in a couple of months.

Digikey (www.digikey.com) has them, although I used the 6 pin version (as you don't use pins 6,7, 13, 14 anyway) when I built the rev limiters that I sold at my web store.
