Find Your Boost Leak Now!!!

Work with Chris from boostpro, very easy to get in touch with. Great guy. Product works amazing, and its only 24 bucks!! Im sure especially on turbo cars you will used this boost/vacuum leak many times. Very easy to do, this is how it works....

1. Need the compressor ( mine i used with a tire inflator peice)
2. Next you take out your air filter and plug it with boostpro.net's boost leak tester, fits easily into the intake. Clamp it down.
3. Just turn the compressor on and put the connector on the boost leak tester as if you were going to pump up a tire. ( other applications available at boostpro.net).
4. Watch the gauge as it says you should really go past 7psi. The tester comes with the gauge as shown in the pictures.
5. Listen for any leaks, as you put the air in, you will hear it leaking out from somehwere. Or even a loose hose will pop off.

*** Very easy, Works great. ***

Contact chris@boostpro.net or give him a call at (763)232-1605.

I know you can make one very cheap... However the quality of this peice is great. I would recommend it to anyone!

while he structured the post in a way that may come across as spam, that doesn't mean that this boost leak tester isn't a great tool. I have that exact boostpro tester and have used it very successfully. Others on here like NZconvertible have built their own. I think a lot of people on here don't pressure test their cars, which is a shame considering how many vacuum lines and other potential leaks can develop.

Personally, I had a ton of vacuum leaks when I put my car together after a full turbo upgrade. It wouldn't even read vacuum at all at first. Turns out my ACV blockoff plate was leaking, some of my vacuum hoses were a little too big so they leaked, my secondary injectors had a vacuum leak (stupid Bosch injectors don't seal well), etc, and I never would have found them without pressurizing the intake--either with this tool or by fabbing my own.

One thing that's useful is to spray around the engine bay with soapy water. I had a leaking IAT that I would have never found without spraying it. On my T04S turbo with a 4 inch inlet, I bought a 4 to 3" reducer and clamped the tester to that.

question: if I plugged up my exhaust with say a rubber cork, would that allow me to test for exhaust leaks too?

Exhaust leaks are easy to find w/o anything like that unless there just that small. Just get under the car w/ it running and run your hand around the pipe fealing for air movement w/o touching the pipe (for obvious heat reasons) Unless the leak is somewhere you cant get to w/ your hand. Ive found plenty of exhaust leaks this way. Most of the time they were small rust hole on top of the pipe that i couldnt see from below.

well I think it could be either my vband clamp/flange, my turbo to manifold connection, or even possibly my engine to manifold gasket. but they are all really close together and it's not obvious which it could be , and with the HKS manifold the turbo sits close to the stock clutch fan (much farther forward than the stock turbo manifold) and there is always air blowing over there. It's not easy to diagnose that way in my situation.
