hmmm

what kidna info do you need

im not sure if there is a bad leak or if i have bad compression... i dont know how to check for that. I will check the throttle body for debris.

Basically my rpms just dont rise very fast when i gas it hard. It jus seems unusually slow to me.

Any ideas on how i could check for vac leaks ? or bad compression ? the motor is 142kms on it its original, has intake just a cone filter ( its kinda dirty), and a straight pipe exhaust 2.5" piping... ive retained the air pump...

uh i duno tats all

he he your car used to look like mine http://www.cardomain.com/id/soiaplap

anyways I would check and clean your AFM connection with a good electronics cleaner, as the oil from the K&N will get into the connector when it is freshly oiled.

I'd still clean it and check it out anyways, doesn't take more than 5 mins, my next guess would be the TPS

I think an obvious check is the catalytic converter. It is mostly definitely clogged, and is and too much backpressure on the exhuast. It is literally choking your engine.

How much do the 12" kenwoods weigh?

Sounds like you may just have a tired engine, there are hundreds of threads on compression testing if you want to search...

Have you verified your 5th & 6th ports work correctly? Secondary throttle plates opening as they should? Sensor input voltages to the ECU good per FSM? All kinds of things you could check....

I must have been real tired when I posted...

Anyways the compression check seems to be the next obvious test, as this test is the most important test to the car's power. Its not even that hard of a test.

No more subs in my car as of now. the rims i have on are bout 1-2 lbs heavier then stock. their 17's.

um my friend said he can do a compression test for $40 canadian. I dont have the equipment to do the compression test thats why ... mmm.... :S

i hope its not the compression ....

$40 Canadian? You can buy a cheap compression gauge for $15 USD... I'm sure thats cheaper than $40 CDN .

Just buy the compression tester and do it yourself. Seriously its just like changing your spark plugs. The money you spend on having someone do the test can buy you a compression testor and get your test results. When using a regular piston compression testor hold the check valve open and look for 3 even bounces.

When I had my N/A I always thought it was a psychological thing where it just got slower and slower. Then I put a lightened flywheel on, that helped alot with the speed at which the engine rev'd, all mechanical defects aside, a lightened flywheel will make your engine rev faster. A super light one will cause a bit of bogging when dropping the clutch due to the extreme loss in mass, but a 12lb one should do fine.
