I cannot get my 1990 mazda rx-7's rpms over 1900 in park or any forward gears. It is an automatic transmission. When the car is in reverse or nuetral it will rev. up fine. I don't know if it has any thing to do with the rpm problem but a few minutes after the car is running the dash lights will dim.

does it switch through the gears when ur driving at 1900? each gear?
