Slot the tops of the heads and use a straight blade screw driver. Use plenty of P B Blaster and soak the screws. When you replace them, use allen head screws.

If they aren't too rounded, you can use an impact driver with a fine phillips head and that may do the trick.

if your doing any cutting etc just be carefull and remember that you are working on a gas tank...

dremel will be quickest. Good luck trying to fit a hacksaw blade in there.

You can also drill them out, just dont drill into the threads, only drill the head so that it weakens then take a punch and punch it off at an angle. Works great. The threads that are left in the hole from the screw usually just twist right out with no effort at all. If they don't worst case scenario is that you continue drilling and then tap the hole with a slightly larger size.

I use a cut off wheel in a die grinder, but you cannot have any fumes present. Not the safest way to do it, and usually the last resort.

Try the impact screw driver first, then a pair of 5R vice grips. Soaking the screws with the P B Blaster is the key. If that doesn't work, then notch with a hacksaw or a triangular file.

The easiest way is to take a pair of vice grips and just turn the screw loose, no cutting no sparks just crimp it on there and turn
