Round Connector Under Alternator

Unhappy Round Connector Under Alternator

Hey, I had a 89 swapped into a 90 a cpl months ago and noticed a round black connector with a green wire running to it tucked behind the alternator..... WHAT is this connector and should it be connected to something! !?!?

I think it's a thermoswitch for the electric fan?

Do you have stock electric fan?

Yes I do... I cant find anything around it that it would plug into though.........
.. it definetely wouldnt be the sensor connection for the OMP would it???

It could be your engine did not come with this thermoswitch.
It's usually located on the back of the water pump housing, close to the water thermo sensor for the ECU.

The E-OMP plug is a single(?) plug with like 8 pins in it?
This plug is rectangular, so it can't be the circular plug you're describing.
Besides...if the E-OMP wasn't plugged in correctly, the stock ECU will go into limp-home mode, and you will feel it!

It is for the e-fan. If your car doesn't have the fan, it won't have the thermoswitch either, and the connector is a spare.
