rough plan of attack - need input

I'm getting a JDM S5 TII soon and I've got some things to do to it. I don't have TII hood so I'm going to get a FMIC and then a water injection system even though it's a stock turbo, just to be safe.

I'm thinking that I'll drop the engine in totally stock and get it working first, but since I'm not going to get a TII hood, I'm wondering if it'll be ok to run without a hood until I can get the car working smooth.

After it's running fine, then I'll add the FMIC.

After I get that all worked out, I was going to add the pressure driven mechanical water injection system.

What do you guys think?

The TMIC will not get air, and will cause issues, as you might as well place the intercooler over your exhaust manifold. You need the hood, point blank.

if you just need to get it running, and no boost, then no hood is just fine. once you start boosting it, then the IC needs some air flow

If you look, the TII has a force-fed duct for the TMIC, kinda like the Soobys.

This is so that the pushed air coming over your hood gets into (through) the IC.

No hood means no scoop and the air will sit somewhere between pushed and a vacuum above the TMIC.

Like J9FD3S said, No boost, then the IC is almost serving not BOOST-RELATED purpose... Throw in boost, add TMIC.
