Rough Idle - Brought to Mazdee's - still need help
Hey, Had a huge exhaust leak and ended up brigning the car (87 TII) to mazdee's for a fix. Leak ended up getting fixed but the car has idle problems. After working on it for about 5 hours and switching out the BAC and Air Control Valve (if i remember clearly), car wasn't doing any better. Then i thought it could be the fuel filter, since i don't know the last time it'd been changed (i've only had the car for a month) and it displays symptoms of a bad fuel filter ie.: lean at idle, hiccups at low throttle, etc. so fuel filter is on order, should get here wednesday or thursday.
My main concern is this. I found a tube next to my air bypass valve thats got a screw plugging it. After looking at the FSM, it's supposed to be connected to the air intake tubing, right after the AFM and air bypass valve with a one way check valve. WHAT IS THIS TUBE FOR? and would it be contributing factor to my bad idle? obviously it's not supposed to be plugged with a bolt, but i want to understand what this tube does and how big a deal it is.
Thanks in advance!
P.S.: my intake tubing has caulk and Electrical tabe around it near the turbo, but i'm pretty sure there's no leak (i'm definitely not the person who did that :P)
