aint it normal for 7's to have 750 rpm idle? mine bounces up and down too, but only during the very first start up of the day, in the morning. is this what you're experiencing?

yes the normal idle of an rx7 is 750 rpm's, a lot of rx7's idle really high when you first turn it on, maybe because of gasoline still in the housing from a previous drive or something or because its cold. The bouncing up and down is fairly normal, mine does it too, my cousins, my friend. All the people that i hang around with turn it on, rev's to like 1.5 grand or higher then settles down between 1k and 700 rpms. Just make sure to keep ur car in good shape and you probably wont have any problems.

I would go with the cold start system on this one, that is SUPPOSED to raise the idle when cold, but thats just me.

No, its NOT normal. His/Her car probably has misadjusted TPS, throttle stops, or a number of other things that can be fixed if you just follow the FSM.

well, its just my point that dropping idle is normal. now the bouncing up and down, it happens to me, and i have adjusted the TPS (0.8K - 1.2K ohms for S5's according to FSM). i think it's also part of the Cold start, but i COULD be wrong too, right?

anyways, dont be alarmed sevenfc. it's not gonna break your car.
