Are rotors marked with something so you know what the weight is. My problem is I have two disassembled S5T2 engines with three good rotors( One trashed because broken apex seal) and I want to make sure I get the same class/weight whatever together for the new rebuild. I know the numbers are for which face and all.

Thanks all! Got it fiugered out. I have two good C's and one good D. I can't find any letters on the counterweights so I assume it doesn't matter.

 

Nope.
There are only 2 counter weights, s4 and s5. Turbo vs n/a doesnt mater, only series.

 

Autos had a lighter counterweight, for the record. However since I don't think there were any North American auto TIIs, that's just academic.

 

I'm assuming you are referring to the front counter weight?

 

roger that, front counter weight. I don't think there's one on the back unless you''re running a nonstock flywheel. Both these S5 T2 engines are being built back up as USDM stock. I'm going to install one of them in my 90 and store the other one. What is a good method for long term storage of a rebuilt engine?

 

Turn the engine a few time with ur hand and some oil

Wd40 works too

 

just drown it in vaseline and put it in a bag. turn it over periodically.
