Rotor thickness

I tried searching for this, but I got a lot of unrelated topics. Most of it dealing with brakes.

I am looking for clarification on how thick the rotors and housings are. I need to know this because I am buying a micrometer for the upcoming rebuild. Also, should I buy more than just one or just get one large one and let it do all the duties?

I am not sure if this is right, but someone told me that the rotors are 80 mm thick. That works out to like 3.14 inches. Is this right?

Yeah, 80mm. High quality calipers are generally available in inch increments. Meaning 1-2", 2-3", etc. You'll need a set to cover the spectrum.

So, if I get a 3 piece set that has 0-1", 1-2", and 2-3" and a large 0-6" one should that cover me pretty well for the rebuild?
