How long does a rotary engine run? Do I need to rebuild my engine?
Most 13Bs can last over 150-200K miles, while most 13BT engines usually last 125-175K miles, but remember that regular proper maintenance for the engines entire life is required for higher lifespan.
definately is all about the maintenance you give to it, and how well the prev owners treated it.

i saw an FC at the scrapyard with 354,000 kms on it, and another next to it with a mere 142,000 kms..

thats why i think its all about care and maintenance

If it weren't for bad luck, I'd have none at all!

My N/A packed it in at 45835 miles

actually its beating the **** out of it that makes them last longer.

The worst thing to do to a rotary (and what I suspect happened to asherwoods) is to let it sit around, maybe driving it once a month, or baby/grandma the motor.

Drive it hard and all the time.

My car is my primary vehicle.

PS a nice little four banger should be kept in the back yard for emergencies.

Amen to that. Carbon is our engines worst enemey...the seals also need to see different loads and get worked..

Remember, to those who might misinterpret that, this doesn't mean pulling 1st and 2nd to 7,600 (series 4) 5 times a day....BUT the engine needs to see its powerband regularly.
