Rotary RC car =) WOOP

Past couple of days, I broke out an old RC car with a friend and we just messed around a bit... I've ALWAYS liked RCs (gas powered) and lately have been seriously thinking of starting yet another hobby =) (right now I just have a cheap TYCO car)

THEN I got another great idea =) I LOVE rotary engines, and WOW that would rule having an RC with rotary engine!!!! These things run about 1 hp (I don't know much about them, I'm guessing that is a good start... some of them run .5 hp and such)..

Well I did some looking... Just looking for any and all rotary engines made... and I lucked out! find a place that makes a rotary RC engine!!!!!!! I am pretty stoked about this =)

1.27 HP and goes up to about 18,000 RPMS haha Totally wicked!

I can work on my 7's rotary at day, and my RC's at night HAHA

Goto :

That is the link... I just thought this was badass!!! what do ya think?

WOOHOO SWEETNESS thats the way uh huh uh huh i like it uh huh uh huh rotary power in RC's now, thats only a single rotor one, imagine 2 rotor you could probably make a 2 rotor one with the extra parts you can buy, 2.54hp man you would have an awesome RC car

Well, You'd have to have a pretty hefty suspension and chasis to hold a 2 rotor engine, not to mention just the size of it...

You know riding lawnmowers? (never had one DANGIT) but I think they run about 5 hp right?

so 1.2 in a tiny RC? Man it would haul! and I hope is sounds different than the normal nitro engines in those rcs =) Reeng Reeng!! REEEEEEEEEENENNNENNNNNNGGGGG!!!!!!
(smell of tiny tires burning up) Ahhhh!!

Once I am done rebuilding my 13B, maybe I'll take the xtra parts and try and put it on a lawnmower or something=) HAHA Drive around the neighborhoods mowing lawns for cash.... That would be some FAST cash..

But now I am seriously looking for a Nice base RC car with no engine... getting this rotary engine... and having fun with a new hobby =) If you think about it... It is like a normal car with 2 differences... CHEAPER!! and you don't get the satisfaction of being IN it feeling the power.... But WOOP Can't wait! I'll bring it to the next sevenstock =) HAHAHA Like when they announced the 4 Rotor race car and started it up, they could announce that car again.. and I could start up my RC and drive it out there haha... "OOPS I mean our 1.2 HP 1 Rotor RC!!!!!!" (insert big Burnout here) . what a great thought =)

the page says the engine weighs 11oz, thats the whole thing add just another rotor maybe 20oz at the most, nah riding lawnmowers run more than that, the old ones mighve had 5hp, some go karts have 5hp lol, but most new mowers have like 12-15hp engines, go to ebay, look on there they usually have RX-7 model cars, and stuff like that, it would be sweet to have a 2nd or 3rd gen body over that bad engine Really small turbos lol the 2 rotor RC engine wouldnt weigh too much at all how much is that thing anyway, i think i might buy one and make a rx7 RC

I've seen that before, it looks pretty badass. However, it looks like it's designed for an airplane application based on the mounts and output shaft, I bet it would take some work to put it on a car. gotta be worth it though!

So you know, someone out there in the world DOES make a FC RE Aninem(i'll stop now, since I know I'll **** it up) think its either 1/24 or 1/32 scale, so if your platform (chassis) is the matching size, wala! sweet *** RC car with a fatty body kit...be sure to add Type R stickers to get that 1.2 HP to like 152.2HP hehe

Sorry but it's not worth it. As of now I own a .12 Novarossi with 1HP for $149 and NO modifications to the chassis, trans, etc. With the OS rotary you'll spend well over $250 on the engine itself, do something for the chassis (the easy part) and the tranny. If you want something nasty/fast/wicked do a .21 conversion....they have OVER 2.1 HP...THAT is FAST!!!!

BTW - Mycar should be in 65 - 70 MPH

They don't make one for cars? Why wouldn't it work well on cars? isn't the hp the same either way =) just fabricate a way to transfer it to car...

(I know JACK about RC world... so sorry =)

I just thought having an RC would rule, and having it ROTARY would just kick major butt!!!

You could grab a couple of snails out of the yard, shove about a billion vacuum hoses into them and the little wankel and you'd have the most complicated twin-turbo R/C car out there! Or, just go electric—they pretty close to rotary engines in design. I swear, sometimes it's easier to work on the full-size 7 than it is to work on those 1/10 scale racers.

So true!!, I've had my Novarossi engine since January. It took me 7 months to "properly tune" the engine, that is after messing with the 3 car neddles!!

Mazda RX-7 2nd Gen 1/10 Remote Control RC RX7

http://cgi.ebay.com/aw-cgi/eBayISAPI...tem=1655731066

This auction is for a Mazda Rx-7 1/10 scale remote control RC car body. If you have ever wanted to own a mini version of
your RX-7 Turbo II, this auction is for you! This item is extremely hard to find. It is an exact replica of a second generation
RX7 Turbo II . The body is transparent (clear) and needs to be painted. It comes with decals that will finish the RX-7 with
complete detail. The Decals include headlights, taillights, side markers, door handles, infini symbol, brake light, gas lid, and
many more including performance decals. The overall length is about 17 inches. It is made of clear molded plastic. It will
need to be prepared with some minor knife trimming (wheel wells, etc.). If the car looks blue in the picture, it is because I
used a blue background. The first picture of the red model is for finished example only. All other pictures are the actual
model. High bidder will pay by check or money order. High bidder will pay shipping (item is light weight). Good Luck!

The problem with the rotary r/c airplane engine is that if it sits in a car, it iwll just overheat and die

Not enough air to run it on a car
