Rotary Music

It was incredible. I have never been more in tune with my car! Last night, I actually turned off my stereo, and opened my windows, and just listened to the music of the rotors. I shifted better, controlled the car better, and I actually felt like the car was TELLING me what to do! It was down right SPIRITUAL! I know this is a pointless post, but I just thought I would share. The cold breeze, the sound of redline, and the click of the shifter as I shifted almost brings tears to my eyes! I LOVE THESE CARS!!!!!

Heh, sounds like you had fun. I do that all the time . If you need a lil more, nothing tops a long ground wire to your radio, turning it to AM and finding the signal from your plugs. You hear the engine running over the radio...sweeeeet

I'm glad to hear somebody else besides me does this.

The first time I did this, I was driving down to Florida in my 85 to visit friends and I was going through Atlanta on I75 at 3 A.M. Unbelievable..... very little traffic....and 5 or 6 lanes of highway for me to play on. The sunroof was out and the windows were down and the Street Ported rotary was screaming though the RB exhaust..... brings a smile to my face everytime I think about it

GOD, I miss that

I agree that it is music and it puts you in tune with the car. My wife does not.

I never did this with my stock exhaust. Of course you can hardly hear the motor with stock exhaust. The RB system I have sounds great though. I hope I can duplicate or improve on the sound now that I am going turbo...

Hoping I don't lose that lovin' feeling...

Ok, i'll try. The reason they (manufactures) tell you to use as short as possible ground wire for your radio is to help fend off electrical interference. Electricity is being carried in the spark plug wires, and some "features" of plug wires is shielding. The more shielding, the less interference. Since my wires are 86K old, they leak a little interference which is picked up by the radio on the AM band. So I hear each little spark that is getting sent to my engine, and it matches up nicely to the exhaust.

Downside is doing it in a thunderstorm, where you'll hear the lighting over the stereo and see it near the same time, but you'll hear it boom seconds later.

Sounds like I agree with everyone as well, I almost never have the radio on in my 'vert even though I have nice new speakers and amps.

It is great listening to a rotary

I find that when I drive my '7, I listen to music only about 30% of the time. I love listening to the turbo do it's magic and music only serves to cover that up. Hell, when I go on a "spirited" drive I turn the music off...it helps me concentrate more.

I also enjoy the sound of spinning tires at 7k in first gear, then bouncing off the redline. I did that too last night w/ my g/f in the car! She actually was turned on! This car just gets better and better!
