Not to worry, I just sourced a 17mm bore stock diameter dual belt pulley. It even has the spacer built into it, just like the stock FD pulley. I have a sample on its way to me, I will have it on Monday.

So this pulley would fit the FD alt, but would it line up with the FC pulleys?

If the pulley works out we will be offering them on our website, we have also sourced the 15mm bore pulley for the stock alternator and have 50 of them on the way to us now.

Wait...so those awesome pulleys with the rotor machined on them are no longer being produced since Rotary Innovation was the one who made them?

That would be a shame as it is one of the nicest machined pieces I've bought. I wonder if someone can buy the design because it is beautiful and functional. I'm sure glad I got one!

Rotary Innovation did not make the rotor ones.

Who made them then? I'm fairly certain that was the website I bought them from a year ago. They had the rotor on the front, were machined very well, and fit directly onto an FD alternator (needed to add a small washer though).

I might take a picture to make sure we are talking about the same thing.

i have one exactly like that but in black delrin or something similar, and have no idea where it came from. It definitely seems like an underdrive pulley tho.

When I searched around I found that pully, it is an underdrive. I can't remember where I got it from.

This is the Rotary Innovation one.

I thought that the FD pulley shaft was 15mm? Am I wrong on that? I hope not, because I had my dual alternator pulley from my S4 machined to 15mm with a matching 15mm bore spacer the same height as the original S4 alternator spacer and both fit. That combo fit well and the machine work only cost me 25$ at a local machine shop. However I found the P-164 alternator pulley from an ASE Site that is dual sheave and 15mm bore I don't know if the pulley has the required spacer built into it but the price is hard to beat. At just $10 not including shipping and handling.

I bought both the Rotary Innovations dual belt and the one with the rotor shaped thingie. Got the Rotary Innovations one from their website, but got the rotor shaped one on Ebay from Banzaitoyota. What I noticed in shipping was both pulleys shipped from the same address.

And I believe originally the rotor shaped one was made by Higgi...a forum member.

The difference between S5 to S7 alternators is shaft size. One is 13mm (FC)and the other is 15mm (FD).

Had a chance to try out the pulley. Good news and bad news. The belt spacing is perfect but the built in spacer is too thick to fit past the ridge on the alt... Back to the drawing board, I will look for one that does not have the built in spacer.

Also attached pics of FC (15mm) vs FD (17mm) alt shafts,

If you paid someone to machine out a 15mm pulley to 15mm then you got taken, you also do not have a FD alternator. More likely you are just mistaken as to the size that it was machined to.

you are quite possibly right Banzai i must be mistaken.. because I know that my dual pulley didn't fit onto my fd alternator which i bought reman'd from a parts store. So if i were to have gotten taken it would have been one hell of a conspiracy. So I am sure your right, all i pretty much did was give my machinist the old FD pulley and my dual pulley off of my original fc alternator and told him to make the holes the same size and while he was at it to give me a spacer the same height as the original FC spacer.

here is a 17mm bore 3/8 belt 2-5/8 diameter pulley don't know if it has a built in spacer but theres a chance it could work. http://www.ase-supply.com/product_p/ni-p-100.htm
