Well i just finished putting in my 91 spec in my 87 t2 . I just tried to start it and it sound like its having a hard time turning over , like theres not enough spark or something . I first tried it with out a jump a it just makes a funny clicking sound . I then jump it with a van and it turns over very slow. PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!! I also took the jumper cables hook them up to the battery and touch them together to see if it had juice and my starter ran by it self. WTF

Make certain you have the battery cables connected correctly (negative to negative etc.). The negative cable should be attached to the trans bell housing bolt near the starter. The positive battery cable should be connected to the starter. There is a smaller wire that is connected to the starter solenoid. On my '86NA this wire is black/yellow.
make sure you've connected your ground. It sounds to me like your engine is running off a VERY SMALL ground. such as the ground wire on the back of the alternator. Make sure the engine is PROPERLY GROUNDED and it should turn over fine.
