Motor mounts:
www.grannysspeedshop.com

The headers would have to **probably** be custom jobs, just get some flanges, bender, and a welder...

**Edited for correctness**

They have a package deal for a SBC incluing the mounts and headers for ~600.

Hey Jack did you ever complete the throttle body mod? I have been reading up on it a lot lately and if you did in fact complete it then your crazy high revolution driving right after you start your rex up may have contributed to your engine probs........I dont remember you ever letting your car rev up b4 leaving my house and tearing *** on Himes avenue lol =).

Jack, what happened.. Why do you think its blown? Is it loping again?

You said the alt was the cause of the loping.. did it really fix your issue?

you shouldn't need custom headers.

Summit Racing sell "block hugger" headers for a small block 350. we used these putting our V-8 into a 1st gen.

SURE .. u can buy it whatever. but u will prolly be better off buying a new one for like $130.00.... but i would sell it to ya for cheap...... nah i think i have low compression on this one but im not too sure as of yet because i havent much time to go to my friend's house to check it.. but i bought it and a few months later it blew then i rebuilt it .... now i think low compression...

i mean my car still puts out some good power though.... last night i beat a built fox body gt mustang... eventhough he was pulling hard from behind me... i just might have to ATF this engine... im kinda looking forward to putting a v8 though... all my friends wanna help me do it too ... sounds fun to me... im gonna turn into a junkyard builder...
but ill look into that summit catalog today and look for the headers u talkin bout dude...
one more question :
~ what chevy model had the best/strongest 5-speed available? so i know what 5-speed to take out of what car ... a while after making it 5-speed i know i will change to automatic....

I think your injectors are leaky. causing the long time to start, it washing all the oil off the seals. bring that bitch over, I find out if the comp is low.

Something I have seen before, try closing your 5th and 6th port and see if it doesn't start faster. it has something to do with velocity of the mixture at low revs, like starting.. try it, it worked for me before..

Go with the T-56 tranny. Its a 6-speed, and is very strong. You can mount a LT1/T-56 combo while still retaining factory shifter location. I recommend going to www.v8rx7.com , they have a decent forum with nice people and good info.

I've gotta be the first to speak out against the V8 swap here guys. C'mon now, why would you take the rotary out and put in a V8?

Why not use the Grand National's V6 instead?

A GN engine would be great, but they only major downside I see is being able to find one on a budget. They are pretty rare, and if you do find one you'll probably pay an arm and a leg for it. You can get a decent V-8 for pretty cheap, and get some aluminum heads, IM, headers, it will be just as light and probably make more power than that GN engine. All this talk is getting me thinking again.............that's never good.

LS1 and T-56, the only way to go, IMO. Though I have never done this swap, that is what I would do. If I were going to do it, that is...

You think an ls1 w/ bolt ons is going to make more power than a bolt on GN motor? Heh.... no =P
