Roots type Blower on an RX7 Non-Turbo???

Gentlemen,
This may be the dumbest question ever asked on this site but someone has to hold this dubious distinction, right?

:confused

Has anyone ever mounted a ROOTS type Blower ( HOLLEY, WEIAND, B&M ) on a 89-1991 RX7 Non-Turbo 13B? Now before someone goes and points out the difference of Fuel Injection and the Normally Asperated Carburetor thing, I have heard that some people change from F.I. back to Carburetor.
1) My question then is, what do they use for an intake manifold? I checked with Edelbrock and they said they never made one. (Strike ONE!)

2) Are the INTAKE bolt patterns the same on an older type carbureted intake and the newer type F. I. intake? If the bolt patterns are NOT the same what do you think about the feasibility of fabricating/adapting the existing F. I. Intake Manifold to accept the Blower sitting on top of it? The layout and fabrication wouldn't be a problem.

3) Is there something obvious here that I am missing?

I know that there is a tremendous amount of knowledge on this site. More than I could ever hope to learn on my lifetime. When you guys get done laughing at this, any input and light you can shed on this will be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

Sincerely yours,
Robert

The dumbest question champion was the guy who asked why his engine wasn't running correctly after he replaced one of his high-compresson NA rotors with a low-compression TII rotor. Sorry, you are not even in the ballpark.

Most of the young folks nowadays are boost-happy, and therefore spending $3K on a 6-8psi supercharger is pretty hard to swallow. Also, the turbocharged TII RX-7 cars and engines are readily available, and even in stock form they offer the same boost as a Roots blower but with better performance and gas mileage, plus they use 87 octane fuel. Additionally, the turbocharged engine has much more growing potential.

However, one manufacturer is bold enough to attempt marketing a blower to the RX-7 owners who prefer low boost, old technology, and cool noises.

Toto, I have a feeling we are not in piston-engined Kansas anymore.

I like how they severely exaggerate the costs of a basic turbo swap...

Any mod that makes your car idle at 1500 and only gives you 176 HP is lame.

While I would love to have a supercharged rotary, they just aren't economically feasible. The cost vs power just isn't anywhere near that of a turbo engine. For the price of a supercharger kit you could a have rebuilt, streetported j-spec engine with money to spare. With a downpipe and a fuel piggy back you are still cheaper than a supercharged rotary and have more power. Plus, instead of a maxed out system, you have room to more than double you power.
