How do I get my driver's side window up?
My switch is broken

 

What year is your Rex? It it's a 89-91 (broken switch's are cronic on Series 5's), piece of cake. If you want to replace it, Series 4's go for about $45-50 on E-bay. Series 5 go for $60 to as much (no kidding) $100.

 

Pull the plug off the switch. Jumper the Black wire with a red stripe to the Red wire with a Black stripe. Then jumper the Green wire with a black stripe to the pure black wire. Window WILL go up.

 

yeah. i broke my drivers switch in my 87 gxl once. i cut the wires just before the switch and twisted them together in the corresponding pairs to make the window go up or down, then unplugged the mess from the wires in the door when i wasnt using it. hahaha

 

Take your switch apart and clean out all the connectors , pay close attention to putting it back together. i used emory cloth and an exacto knife. cleaned out the contacts and the stuff worked great. took me like 40 mins. Do the drivers side door first, if it goes bad none of the windows will work. Good Luck.
