Too late to help you, but for others here is how...

If the roll pin is in a hole that goes all the way through, there are special punches to drive them out. This punch looks like a regular punch except the business end will have a small "ball" shape on it. This prevents the punch from flattening and widening the end of the roll pin. There is really no good substitute for this special punch. The punches come in numerous sizes to match the diameter of the roll pin. They are called simply "roll pin punches".

For pins and any other hollow dowel type protrusion in a blind hole, simply fill the pin or dowel with grease. Take a close fitting object such as a bolt or nail and placing it in the opening, strike it sharply with a hammer. This will cause a piston in a cylinder type effect that will drive the pin out by hydraulic pressure from the back end.
