Unfortunately you need it like that now a days. The SCCA has become the WWF of racing lately.

Well, for me, the nice thing is that I have elbow room, even with the bar high enough to protect me from a side impact.. Plus there's a good 9-12 inches of crush room before a car would even come close to touching me..

The car is about 3/4 done, we've just finished mounted the seat in the car, getting the seat brace done, and we're moving to gussets for the cage. Once that's complete, we weld some tabs onto my griffin radiator for mounting, and I get it back home for final assembly.

Silkworm-
I like the extra crush room myself. Makes the wife happy as well which is always a plus. What are you using for Window Net and Belts? Are you licensed already or going to School in this car?

cymFc3s-My woman complains all the time as it is! lol

M&R? I think that's the first windownet setup I bought but didn't like it. Do you use them? Any problems with them? I might be interested.. You've already got an order for a splitter coming as soon as I can scratch up the dough.

M&R have been around a long time. Over the years we've used them all and I think for the money M&R has the nicest products. If I didnt use M&R I would use Sparco / Sabelt before Simpson.
Why didnt you like their window net?

And do they get annoying during daily driving?

Weve had customers put them in their street cars. Everyone seems to love it, says they feel safer and they like the "look". When you mount them in a street car, or any car for that matter, you have to be very careful with the installation. If you mount them with the wrong angle it will do more harm then good!

The window net mounting stuff seems cheesy with the seat belt latch doodad.. Plus it was a ribbon net instead of mesh so it's harder to see out of.. Anyway, I've got an MR here if anyone wants to buy it off me

Anyway, I wouldn't use harnesses on the street, too much of a PITA... I'm lazy, I like my stock belts for the street..

I'll give you a shout when I have the dough for the belt and splitter.
