role cage with sun roof

someone told me that this role cage would not fit if you have a sunroof. Also I know there are some real racers here, if for any reason you see why this role cage is not a good one please let me know. I plan to mount my 4 point harness to this also. I will also be mounting my seat to the floor and welding the back of the seat to the role cage. http://www.kirkeyracing.com/index17.html

the ebayer says he is in Toronto but he also says he is in US. I dont want ot go through customs again.

I was also thinking about welding a bar from the role cage to the rear shock towers. Does anyone see a point in doing this? Do you think i will help?

if he's in toronto he probably does the customs work himself to ship it across, most canadians do.

just ASK HIM! he would know better than anyone else if it will work or not.

Just by looking at it I have a couple comments.

That's a roll BAR not a cage.

He says "This cage will pass tech for sanctioned racing bodies". Which bodies?

How does the seat fit with that thing in place? I'm thining my seat, in it's current position, wold bi-sect that bar (not good). Maybe it's just the photo.

looks like it'd clear the sunroof but I'd ask the seller to be sure.

That roll bar is pretty lame. What do the rear down tubes go to?.... The floor in the cargo area? And what's under there (structural)? Nothing.
Tieing it into the shock towers will do something. It's just hard to say how much. Ideally you want the down tubes to connect directly to the top of the shock towers.
It's good that the main hoop goes to the cross member instead of the floor. But it would be better if it attached at the outer edges where that member intersects the main "frame rails".
If you are really going to count of that bar to do anything (like save your ***), I'd find someone local to build you something much better. Some guys will work for beer.

good site, and this one is SCCA legal, whereas the roll bar that started this thread is NOT!!! look at the fine print on any safety device like this before you buy it. If you don't, I guarantee it will come back and bite you in the @$$
