After spending an arm and a leg on car parts I've been thinking of buying some parts on this site, mainly hoses and basically anything else worth buying.

I've already bought two OEM radiator hoses, top and bottom.

I still need whatever other hoses are left, I don't want to use old stuff.

Are aftermarket coolant hoses like goodyear, gates, etc decent quality?

I'm looking at paying less than half the price of OEM hoses that can cost from up to $40 plus shipping each, which adds up quick.

Everything I've bought from them was exactly what I expected and I have yet to have issues. Their shipping times are excellent.

That being said, I have not purchased hoses from them ... yet.

The main hose that concerns me is the heater hose under the oil filter thats $40 bucks for mazda Oem, they got a Goodyear hose for like $14 and i think that's the only one for that location they have available but i could be wrong.

This hose if it breaks can cause engine failure, and its prone to breaking (even the oem) so that's why I'm asking.

I couldn't find some of the smaller coolant hoses on rock auto. I did end up getting upper, lower, and the short hose that connects the metal pipe to the lower radiator nozzle from them. One of the heater hoses I took to auto zone and matched up with something off another car. I think I ended up buying the rest from mazdatrix. Saved a lot of money, but probably could have saved more if I tried harder. Everything from rock auto was perfect.

Idk why Mazda charges so much for everything, I would think they still produce most of the parts just not alot.

This is the hose I'm talking about.

This should be the one on the right side near the oil filter, or is this a different one?

I have a hard time identifying hoses and their location, its hard to tell with the engine out of the car.

The only thing I've found you have to be aware of with RockAuto is they have multiple warehouses and they'll charge you separate shipping for each warehouse. For example if you bought four items that come from four warehouses you'll pay a lot more shipping than if it all came from one warehouse

^ but they list everything for you so you can decide where the part comes from. Shipping isn't a lot anyway. And there are the coupons... and the prices are still cheaper than mazda.

Mazda parts are still mazda... but they aren't cheap because of that. Also, they are OLD now. Even now, mazda water seals are questionable because they are rubber, and have been sitting on shelves for 25 years. Even a rebuild could be iffy!

Radiator hose is radiator hose. If a new X brand is cheaper, get that.

I've bought a brake master from them and it was perfect, even came with a new resivior installed!

And I got that heater core feed hose from orileys, just brought them the old one and they match it up with one off another car no problemo.

I would think Mazda still makes many things for older cars, if everything was 25 years old they'd be out of many parts already.

Some parts may be 25 years old but not everything.
