rmp problems

hey sup guys i have a 89 gtu and when i get to 6k rpm it hesitates to get to 7!!! it does it all the time but when it wants to, it stops doing it and i can go to 6.5k or 7k rpm. i heard its the vdi that its clogged. if its the vdi can some 1 tell me wheres its located and how do i clean?? i have the haynes manual but i cant find it at the moment. and another thing when i go to hear teh exsaust on the back of the car it does like lil poping noises does that have to do with the vdi also?? thanx!!

your 5th and 6th ports are probably clogged and need to be cleaned. the popping noise is evidence to this. do a search for "5th and 6th port"
