For the most part 17x8 or 16's seems to be the most popular "near stock" size. You can go wider but depending on the offset you might see some rubbing on turns or moderate to hard driving. 18's tend to hinder performance due to them being heavy.

There are plenty of threads on new rims that people have, read them and they should suffice for and inquiries you have.

Personally i have 17x7 with 225/45/17, with more power i will definatly be looking into wider tires and rims in the rear. that is...whenever the winter is over

So pretty much no higher than 18". So even 18" and 17" rubbed against the fender w/ suspension adjusted?

Actually Vipers, he's not kidding. I know Philip, and he knows what we both saw at the last Houston meet. Someone had 20" (Yes TWENTY INCH rims) in the rear and 18's up front. It's not my style, nor my 7, but they were huge. The owner was happy with it, so I didn't have much to say. The owner actually showed us the suspension in the rear, since I didn't believe it was an un-modified suspension. Well, it was, completely stock rear suspension. I got under the car, myself, and looked at it, its stock.

This is kind of the point where I say, unless you've tried it yourself, or seen it yourself, you really don't know. People who theorize (not you personally) usually have books, internet information, to back up their claims, really no personal experience.

NO.
This is almost like asking people what color you should paint your car!

Come on...
Don't you have any clue what you want to run?
Hell, what about what kinda designs YOU like?

this is my car with 4 17x8's with a +25mm off set. I had to roll the front fenders and did some of the rear just in case. Im probably going to go a little lower on the offset in the rear to push out the weels a bit.

I know people are going to scold me if I suggest a search so...

There's a thread called "Official FC Wheel FAQ" or something like that in the Suspension sub-section.
I'd suggest to go look at it.

lol...... i wasnt talking about "stock"........ i said.."20" wheels wont fit on a car WITH major modifications"....... i was in a hurry when i wrote it, so it came out sloppy....... and i was referring to the front wheels.....thats where most people have thier problems w/ larger wheels......not the rear......you said he had 20" wheels on the rear, and 18's up front.....well, there you go!

im not theorizing anything...... a 20" wheel will not fit on the front of an fc...... if someone can prove me wrong, please do so........

I've got 16x7" +40 off set on my FC, stock sized wheel. With BFG 225/50/16 rubber all around. No rubbing issues, and she holds the road like glue. I used to have 17x7 + 40 with EAGLE F1 205/45/17's on it, and it held the road nicely, as well. Much harsher ride though...

This is the best I can come up with. 19's up front and 19's in back. Unsure of suspension mods, but he obviously has some.

Hopefully no offense taken, since I was giving any. :-)
